In a mere 2 days, well 1 day and change, WWE will be holding its second pay-per-view from Saudi Arabia.  The company has decided to keep with the show despite controversy over the suspicious death of a Saudi Arabian journalist.  So, ahead of Crown Jewel, let’s see what we have on tap for matches.

This week, we have gotten information that John Cena has been replaced in the World Cup match with Bobby Lashley.  Also, Daniel Bryan has been named as not wanting to head to Saudi Arabia either, so his match with AJ Styles went forward on Smackdown Live, with AJ coming out victorious.  Don’t worry though, Crown Jewel will still see AJ in action as he faces Samoa Joe.  As of right now, there are 5 matches set.  Let’s get to them now.

Triple H and Shawn Michaels v. The Undertaker and Kane

Michaels will be returning to in-ring action in this bout after being away for more than eight years.  All these names together should be a very exciting match-up.  But, I just don’t think this match packs the punch that it could have, and maybe that’s because it seems forced.  I anticipate an Undertaker and Kane victory.

Universal Championship (vacant) match – Brock Lesnar v. Braun Strowman

After Roman Reigns’ shocking announcement last week, we know that the vacated title will be a 1-on-1 match between Braun Strowman and Brock Lesnar.  I don’t know, don’t have much to think about this one.  I do question if it’s Braun’s “time” yet.  Brock Lesnar wins, followed by raucous boos, to become Universal Champion, again.

WWE Championship – AJ Styles (c) v. Samoa Joe

With AJ’s match against Daniel Bryan now over with, Samoa Joe was able to make his way back into the story.  The two will face up again at Crown Jewel, where I anticipate that AJ will still retain.

Smackdown Live Tag Team Championship – The Bar (c) v. The New Day

This is a rematch for the titles after The Bar was able to secure them with a little help (hehe) from Big Show.  At this match-up, The Bar will retain.

WWE World Cup Tournament

Marketed as a tournament to determine, “the best in the world,” the World Cup matches will take place throughout the event on Friday.  I have a bad feeling about it, and I know he was added last-minute, but I think Bobby Lashley will win.

As controversial as the decision may have been to go to Saudi Arabia and keep the contract for Crown Jewel, I think Randy Orton sums it up best.

See you Friday.
