Another week gone by, and as we look forward to Fastlane, we still have to think about the great amount of unknowns that we have for WrestleMania.
Right now, we know that someone will face Shinsuke Nakamura. We are not sure who that will be, but we know that he will have at least one opponent. Also, we know that The Miz will be facing Seth Rollins and Finn Balor for the Intercontinental Championship. We know that Brock Lesnar will fight Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship. Asuka will face someone for a Women’s Championship, and Ronda Rousey and Kurt Angle will face Stephanie McMahon and Triple H in a mixed tag team match. And that’s it. That’s all we know.
Four weeks and change before the big show, and we don’t know who John Cena will face, we don’t know who Braun Strowman will face, or even if these men will have a match. We have nothing set for Charlotte right now. I’m not nervous, I’m just surprised there are so many unknowns. We have no set tag team matches.
Now, it’s been said that perhaps a cross promotion could be set up and have The Young Bucks from Ring of Honor face The Bar. But, I like a popular theory that’s also been mentioned of having The Dudley Boys come back to face The Bar. The physicality of that match would be amazing, and it’d be cool to have Bubba (Bully) Ray and D-Von hold the titles again after their Hall of Fame induction.
At this point, there are a lot more unknowns than knowns as we move toward Fastlane, but the one thing we can say is this should be an exciting pre-WrestleMania pay-per-view.
