Monday Night Raw

Open on recapping the Elimination Chamber from last night and the face-to-face between Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns that will occur tonight.

Alexa Bliss address the crowd and does an amazing job congratulating herself on the performance she put on at the Elimination Chamber and the fact that the world will be talking about this for the next few decades.

Women’s match, 6-women tag team match, with Asuka, Sasha Banks, and Bayley coming out at the winners.

John Cena brings us back from break giving an explanation of what happened for him last night.  He gives us a glimpse of what would happen if he made the matches…he’d be challenging the UNDERTAKER at WRESTLEMANIA!  But, as he points out, this is not going to happen, so instead, he will head to Smackdown Live to earn his spot at WrestleMania.

Bray Wyatt and Heath Slater one-on-one, but Bray Wyatt started the match without the bell being rung.  He then addresses Matt Hardy in the ring stating, “look what you made me do?” indicating that Matt Hardy is the reason Bray hurt Slater and Rhyno.  Safe to say that their matches/feuds are far from over.

So, what’s next for The Miz? The longest reigning Intercontinental Champion of all time in the next 62 days.  That’s right, “not Chris Jericho, not Roman Reigns, ME!”  So where will The Miz be for WrestleMania?  Who will his opponent be?  That is yet to be determined, but for tonight, The Miz will face none other than the architect, SETH FREAKIN ROLLINS!  With a 3/4 of the ring splash, Seth Rollins takes the victory in this match.

Then, Finn Balor arrives to also challenge The Miz…and soon after, the Balor Club (Gallows and Anderson) arrive to help out . But Kurt Angle comes out and states that the Miztourage and Balor Club are banned from ringside.  Even so, Finn Balor comes out with the victory over The Miz.  In an interview with Renee backstage, Seth Rollins states that he wants the Intercontinental Title match at WrestleMania.

Roman Reigns.  I realize that a lot of people are not a fan of Roman Reigns.  The sentiments are, “he’s shoved down our throats, it’s been the same thing for the past 4 years…” on and on.  Well tonight, when Brock Lesnar doesn’t show, Roman’s promo and his talk was so commanding that I don’t think I’ve heard the crowd that silent for him in a long time.  I think his points of being brought up on this business and the respect of it, calling out Brock for being in Las Vegas but not being at the Elimination Chamber, and his predictions for WrestlemMania were the strongest I’ve seen him in a while and it was a welcome change.  Listen to it again, it will give you chills.  Like him or hate him, he finally made the connection we’ve been needing.

Raw Tag-Team Championship action, the Bar vs. Titus O’Neil and Apollo in a 2 out of 3 falls match.  Sheamus and Cesaro pick up the win picking up 2 falls before Titus and Apollo can even get 1.

Next, we get coverage of this years’ Warrior Award recipient, Jarius “JJ” Robertson.  Here is a clip from YouTube of Jarrius’ Jimmy V Acceptance Speech from ESPN.

And…your main event, another Elias original.  My cat is a big fan.

After the momentary set of “noise pollution,” Braun Strowman makes his entrance.  Did Elias just crawl under the ring…to get…a FIRE EXTINGUISHER…Elias is disqualified! But the match isn’t over.  When Strowman is able to see again, he hunts Elias up the ramp, trying to throw him onto the announce table, but Elias gets away, and the fight is taken backstage.  And while Elias runs off, a limo pulls up net to Strowman.  Who is in the limo?

And just when you think it’s all over, Triple H and Stephanie are announced to “clear the air” after what happened during Ronda Rousey’s contract signing.  We come to find out that Kurt lied (pneumonia and such) and didn’t even remember what he had said last night (sure, he doesn’t).  Ronda, sounding better on the mic tonight, then demanded that Stephanie apologize to her.  Stephanie obliged, and then skirted her way out of the ring.  Followed by Triple H, but only after he took out Kurt Angle.  This is setting up for a very interesting story.

Stay tuned for tomorrow, when John Cena will re-debut at Smackdown Live!  We’re on the road to WrestleMania!
