Money in the Bank is a pay-per-view event held annually by the WWE. The event culminates with two (previously one) match of the same name. In the match, competitors work to be the first one to ascend a ladder and unlatch a briefcase held above the ring. Inside the briefcase is a contract that can be cashed in at any time for a championship opportunity.
And folks, today Brock Lesnar holds your Money in the Bank contract. If you had asked me two days ago how I felt about this pay-per-view, I would’ve been honest and said that I didn’t think much of it. Yes, of course I was going to watch, but was the event and the storylines something I was looking forward to. No, not really. Boy has my tune changed.
Top to Bottom
Besides The Beast entering last minute and taking the Money in the Bank contract in shocking fashion, we also got some very exciting women’s moments. Bayley cashing in her contract for the Smackdown Women’s title over Charlotte really softened the blow that Becky lost that belt. From top to bottom, I though the pay-per-view was excellent.
The matches were physical and exciting. The storylines did not start anywhere, but boy they really finished somewhere. And we also find out tonight that we are going to get a new belt! Hardcore title? Something else? Hard to say, but man, WWE is becoming must-watch again.
Good for business
Right now, we have our singles title holders as all faces. Kofi, Seth, Finn, Rey, Becky, and Bayley. The only scenario that I never saw coming but thoroughly love is the inclusion of Brock as the ultimate heel.
I wanted to make this quick statement that I absolutely love what they did last night. Bravo WWE. Way to keep the matches exciting, brining us to our feet. Way to surprise us over and over with cash-in’s and surprise superstars. From here, don’t let it drop. Keep the momentum going and don’t make it a quick cash-in. Let Brock hold it. Let Bayley fill the spotlight that she has fought for with her performance last night. Oh, and bring Asuka back from obscurity and let her challenge for one of those titles. That is all.
Let it simmer. Let it swell. Give us Brock and Seth again in glorious fashion. Let Brock stop at nothing to get his title back. It’s unpopular, but I think a star like Brock Lesnar is exactly what we need right now.
