Happy Birthday, Sting! My absolute favorite wrestler was born today, March 20th. In 2018, I wrapped up my series on the Greatest Wrestlers of All Time with Sting.
I’d encourage you to read over that full post that covers his career as he got his start and ended with his official retirement following an injury during his brief stint with WWE. I ended that post with the hope that he would one day be cleared to wrestle again. And in 2020, I got my wish.
AEW – A New Era
Sting signed with AEW in late 2020, officially ending his retirement. He had his first match there on March 7, 2021, a tag team match where he teamed with Darby Allin in a street fight-style match against Team Taz. Sting and Allin would win that match. Sting would go on to be prominently featured at AEW and continues to be signed there today.
Future plans
Since I’ve been off on my wrestling watching as of late, I can honestly say that even with his return to in-ring action, I have not been able to watch my favorite wrestler over the past two years at AEW. I plan on changing that and continue to update with more posts featuring “The Icon.”
Extending a Happy Birthday to one of the greats.
