The top moment of the week this week for most fans would probably be the report and confirmation that Daniel Bryan has been cleared to return to in-ring competition and now we know that his re-debut will be at WrestleMania 34.  The long-awaited and long built up story of Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan competing as a tag team against the recently ousted Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens is becoming a reality.  But, at this point, we do know that Shane McMahon is being treated for diverticulitis and, if what I’ve heard it correct, that can be quite debilitating, taking months to recover from.  From reports that I’ve heard, that is what took Brock Lesnar out of competition for over a year and essentially ended his UFC career.  Yikes!  So, maybe a tag match will be best for both competitors.  Shane coming out of this treatment and Daniel begin back to the ring for the first time in almost 4 years, but Sami and Kevin are some fierce competitors and won’t make for an “easy” match.  Also, because we haven’t seen Daniel Bryan in so long, there is an air of long-awaited anticipation of how he’ll fare in a full-length match, and I just don’t think we as fans will be content seeing him stand there, holding the tag rope, and not going full steam.  The same can be said for Shane.  We’ve seen him fight the Undertaker and AJ Styles at the last two WrestleManias.  We are prepared to see him execute some jumps off of something onto something else or at the very least, a coast to coast.  With his recent medical diagnosis, what state will Shane be in at WrestleMania?  My final thought on this tag team match is, what is at stake for Shane and Daniel?

We know that Kevin and Sami with either be reinstated to Smackdown Live or will remain fired.  But what are Shane and Daniel risking?  Could it be written that if they lose, they would have to step down at GM and Commissioner?  That could free up Daniel Bryan to open his contract to be fully on the main roster and relieve him of his GM duties.  That could be a great creative twist.

No matter what happens, this is FINALLY shaping up to be a very exciting WrestleMania.  The card is mostly set, now, we get to watch it happen.

Also, if you didn’t see it, you can find the whole story and video recap from Bleacher Report here.
