The Game and The Undertaker are two of the most decorated, well known, and celebrated superstars of all time. After The Undertaker’s WrestleMania win streak was ended, people were literally sobbing over the end of an era. The reason Roman Reigns could not get over when he faced Triple H was, even though Triple H is considered a heel, he is one of the most beloved characters of all time. So let’s take a retrospective look back at the matchups for these two and the tale of the tape heading towards Super Show Down(October 6, 2018).
This match up, billed as the “Last time ever,” is set to be just that. The final time these two powerhouses will face off against each other. In all, Triple H and Undertaker have faced each other ten times. The first time was in 1995 in a multi-man match, which the Undertaker’s team eventually won. Other players on that day included Jerry “The King” Lawler Lawler’s dentist, Isaac Yankem, DDS. Today, you know Dr. Yankem as Mayor Glenn Jacobs.
Their first one-on-one match was during the Kuwait Cup tournament on WWF’s first trip to the Middle East. The rest I list in order, below.
Matches between The Undertaker and Triple H
Survivor Series 1995 – Undertaker (1-0) over Triple H (0-1)
Tournament for the Kuwait Cup – Undertaker (2-0) over Triple H (0-2) by DQ
Intercontinental Title 1997 – Undertaker (2-1) falls to Triple H (1-2)
WWF World Heavyweight Championship match Spring 1997 – Undertaker (3-1) over Triple H (1-3)
WrestleMania 17 – Undertaker (4-1) over Triple H (1-4)
Backlash 2001 (as tag teams) – Undertaker (4-2) with Kane (The Brothers of Destruction) fall to Triple H (2-4) and Stone Cold
Insurrextion – Undertaker (4-3) falls to Triple H (3-4)
King of the Ring 2002 for the WWE Undisputed World Heavyweight Championship – Undertaker (5-3) defeats Triple H (3-5)
WrestleMania 27 – Undertaker (6-3; 2-0 in pay-per-views) over Triple H (3-6; 0-2 in pay-per-views)
WrestleMania 28 – Undertaker (7-3; 3-0 in pay-per-views) over Triple H (3-7; 0-3 in pay-per-views)
As we move toward their final match-up, do you think Triple H will be able to defeat The Undertaker? If history is any indication, his pay-per-view record against The Undertaker would lead you to think that this still won’t be Triple H’s day. But you can never be sure what The Game will play.
