Read Time:1 Minute, 27 Second

A little more than a week removed from Super Show-Down in Australia, I got to thinking about what an icon the Undertaker is and what he means to so many.  Even though both Undertaker and Triple H looked years younger than they are, the fact remains that they cannot go on wrestling forever.  This struck an interesting idea in me.

Similar to the way the doctor on “Doctor Who” continues on by becoming the same character in a different time, continuing the same story, I thought it would be interesting if we could do the same thing with the Undertaker.

How it could work

The plot would involve the inclusion of some “time piece” depicting outwardly that the current Undertaker’s time is limited.  This could be in the form of an hourglass that would work very slowly.  The stint of each could be 10-15 years, but could be written into stories for all time.

Introducing the Undertaker

Initially, the story would have to be set up.  Maybe with a conversation with his brother, Kane, the Undertaker indicates that his time is short and he can feel that reincarnation will be taking place.  From there, they can work it out as long as they need to, with eventually the story culminating in a new Undertaker carrying on the story and the persona for their number of years.  The hourglass starts over, and we get an iconic, reigning superstar, for all time.

Too much of a rip-off?

Okay, it is very much like a “Doctor Who” scenario.  But, if anyone can blur the lines of science fiction and wrestling, it would be the Undertaker.

Another alternate story-line for the books; what twist would you add to this?
