A lumberjack match is not a specific match style in that none of the rules change and there are no special stipulations to the ending.  What makes a lumberjack match is that the match is set in the traditional format, but all, or most, of the members of the locker room surround the ring as a means of keeping the match “clean.”

They are also meant to keep the wrestlers from getting out of the ring and retreating. This keeps the competitors inside the ring and should lead to a decisive decision of winner and loser. However, as we saw this past week with Bobby Roode and Chad Gable (c) facing off against The Revival, even with the lumberjacks, the match still had a controversial ending.
