Match of the night: Brock Lesnar v. Finn Balor
I wanted to be pleasantly surprised and boy was I pleasantly surprised. Not only did Finn and Brock put on an amazing match, but Brock impressed the hell out of me. People can say what they want about his “love” for the business, but I have never seen anyone in so much pain to the point where I thought, “wow, Brock is gonna drop the belt to Finn!” Amazing match with a perfect end.
Nia Jax enters the Men’s Royal Rumble at number 30.
Some may not have liked it, but seeing Nia take bumps with the men was absolutely perfect. I’ve said for a while that Charlotte and Nia can and should fight the men. And last night, we got it. In perfect fashion, Nia takes R-Truth’s entrance and joins the Men’s Royal Rumble match. She sustained a super kick, a 619, and an RKO before finally being eliminated, but that girl’s got gumption. Thank you WWE.
Why do that to Lana?
We got a lot of great matches last night. And though we were short on any big surprises for either of the rumble matches, the one disappointment for me came in regards to Lana.
Lana was the number 28 entrant into the Women’s Royal Rumble match. After sustaining an injury from her husband during his United States Championship match, it was determined that Lana could not compete, and Becky Lynch took her spot.
I predicted that Becky would enter and would win, but why at the expense of Lana? All Lana has tried to do is move past the valet position and become a true fighting superstar. To take that moment away from her with another gimmick just so Becky could in just keeps her in that place. Why they couldn’t have taken a spot from one of the NXT people who was not previously announced is beyond me.
I stand with you Lana! I’m ready for you to get a regular story.
