Smackdown’s 1000th episode has come and gone. To commemorate the time that has gone before us, I wanted to remember (or for some of us, discover) some of the best moments in Smackdown’s history. So, in no specific order, here it goes.
The Shield attacks The Undertaker (2013)
Included in many “top” lists as a top shocking moment in wrestling is when The Shield defeated The Undertaker. When The Shield came on the scene in 2012, their bookings against mostly big-name players and fan-favorites, i.e., Big Show, John Cena, Chris Jericho, Daniel Bryan, etc. This meant that when The Shield showed up, people paid attention. And the same was true when they faced The Undertaker, though no one really expected them to get many in on “The Phenom,” but boy were they wrong. After a powerbomb through an announce table, we would never look at The Shield the same way again.
Stone Cold Steve Austin catches Booker T shopping (2001)
One of the most memorable and brawls of all time, Steve Austin going after Booker T in the supermarket is now and was then extremely entertaining. The video subject of many of the most popular memes you’ll see today and is just plain fun.

Big Show and Brock Lesnar break the ring (2003)
When these two big men entered the ring together, the ring literally “imploded” (thank you, Michael Cole) after Brock hits a superplex on the Big Show. Cue the “holy shit” chants?
Becky Lynch becomes your first-ever Smackdown Live Women’s Champion (2016)
Years before her epic turn on Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch became the first-ever Smackdown Live Women’s Champion. Though not specifically a Smackdown Live event, it was for the brand, so I’m including it here.
Randy Orton burns down Bray Wyatt’s House (2017)
Though it may not be remembered as one of the best moments in Smackdown Live history, the end of this story with Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton was pure perfection. And, what made it even better was when AJ Styles referenced it. I believe the quote went something like, “Randy Orton burned down Bray Wyatt’s house and what happened? He didn’t get arrested, he didn’t go to jail!.” Classic.
Burn. It. Down.
