Okay, I know, I’ve missed a couple of weeks for this post.  So, I’d like to update you with what I think were the top wrestling moments of the past few weeks.

A Grand Slam Champ and a Cash-in

My first two moments involve the world of the WWE.  At WrestleMania 34, Seth Rollins became a grand slam champion when he won the Intercontinental Title for the first time.  I did not realize that he hadn’t won the IC title before.  If you’ve been watching Seth over the past few months, I think we can all agree that they are gearing up for something big for him again.  It was very exciting to see that match. I’m so ready for some great story lines popping up with him in the mix.  If you want more about WrestleMania 34 happenings, you can see my full recap here.

The second moment was Carmella’s cash-in.  After holding the Money in the Bank contract for nearly a year, she is the new Smackdown Women’s Champion.  Carmella won the title on Tuesday night after Charlotte was beaten down by the Iconic Duo.  Mella looked good, and I’m excited that we finally got a cash in.  Carmella will hopefully have a long reign with the title.  Call me crazy, but I like when heels hold the title.

Local Flavor

As part of my New Year’s resolution, I’ve decided to start attending some local promotions events.  And I mean new year as in wrestling new year, after WrestleMania.  The first one that I had ever been to happened this past Friday night.  My husband and I traveled over to Haltom City, TX to Usual Suspects, a live wrestling event held by DFW All Pro Wrestling.  The action had the crowd involved and the story lines were elaborate.  The wrestlers we got to see had entrances, promos, and were able to put on a good show from start to finish.  My favorite character was Alejandra the Lion.  Her ring gear was great and she was part of a mixed tag match that really went over with the crowd.  She’s a fan favorite, you can tell.  This local promotion was thoroughly entertaining, and I’m really looking forward to going again.

If you’re interested, you can see more about DFW All Pro Wrestling here.  I just wish there next show didn’t fall on the same night at The Greatest Royal Rumble!
